You know it's going to be that kind of day when your first thought when you get up is 'fuck' and the second thought is '...I really need coffee'.
Didn't get much sleep last night -- stupid thunderstorm. Well, I can't really complain because we totally need the rain. Apparently people in the northern part of the county are on water restrictions. Not that I have a lawn to worry about things like that, but it's never a happy day when you get pictures on the front page of the paper with sad looking people holding sad looking hoses and just all around looking sad. Although it is a step up from when I lived outside of DC and the headline for the Post three weeks after I moved there was 'Why are there so many murders in PG county?' Needless to say that I only stayed there five months. And have made a promise to myself never to spend another night in PG county. *shudders* I will drive an hour to stay with my parents when I have to work up there, thank you very much. In the nice, safe, slower eastern shore. Where the headlines involve 'Meet Lucy, the Chestertown Goose'. Or pictures of ducklings, goslings... basically baby animals of all sorts. Not that there aren't bad things that happen there, just much more infrequent. Which is nice coming from an area of high crime.
Oh, and they built a statue for Lucy after she died. They take their geese very seriously.
That's what this town is missing -- geese statues. Oh, and good seafood. I really really miss good seafood. Mmm, crab imperial...
