Conversation with a mother at a college fair over the weekend.

Mom: Oh, your school is near Clemson!
Me: ... um, no. Clemson is in South Carolina. We're in North Carolina.
Mom: There are two of them??
Me: ... two what? Carolinas?
Mom: Yes!
Me: *headdesk*

I wanted to tell her that yes, there were two. It was a brand new development, just happened last Thursday when Andy Griffith and Colonel Sanders got into a fight.

She went away as soon as she found out we were single sex, since she thought her daughter wouldn't meet a husband without a co-ed school. Honestly, I hope she's rich cause obviously the daughter wasn't getting by on her smarts, and she definitely wasn't getting by on her looks either.

I...would be surprised, except I've just been editing data from a college fair in which "caucasion" was listed as one of the ethnicities.

*headdesk*

(Also, someone should let that woman know about West Virginia. It'll blow her mind.)

The mind blowing triumverate of Carolina, Virginia, and Dakota. Split personalities, all of them.

Caucasion? Oh lord. Spell check, people.

Right now it's fighting for stupidest question with the comment from a girl a few months ago...

Girl: So, do you allow drugs on campus?
Me: ... like aspirin, or like heroin?
Girl: *considers* Both.
Me: Yes to aspirin, and since heroin is a Schedule I drug and it's use, consumption and distribution is prohibited by the federal government, no.
Girl: *considers again* Huh.
Me: *really needs a drink*
