The West Wing: 7.22 Tomorrow
I don't have anything really intelligent to say about the ep. I thought it was as fitting an ep as Wells and co are capable of doing without Sorkin's magic touch. I knew that he was going to pardon Toby, but I still teared up when he did. I knew as soon as Mallory gave CJ the package that it would be the napkin, but I still teared up when he opened it. I thought that it was a good mirror of the pilot to have Santos and Josh with a 'what's next?' moment, even if I will always associate that phrase with Bartlet and it feels wrong coming out of anyone else. I'm very happy that they chose to have the last scene with Bartlet and Abby on the plane instead of ending with the Santos/Josh/What's Next scene that they had thought about ending it with. It's Bartlet's show, and I'm happy to see them ending with him.
"What are you thinking about?
"Tomorrow."
I have thoughts about West Wing and it's influence on me, my ideas on public service and my experience, but I should probably wait to type those when I'm not still in sad mode that it's over. Maybe tomorrow.
