Oct. 5th, 2007 10:25 pmHow much do I heart this show?
( Doctor Who - Last of the Time Lords )
There's just something so satisfying about being this gleeful over a show :) Even if it does seem to make me start every sentence with 'And' *lol*

May. 23rd, 2007 11:03 pmOh Lost.
You disappointed me the first half of the season, for I couldn't care less about Jack & Kate, and all the Sawyer in the world couldn't make up for focusing on those boring two. The Others were dull and we didn't get to see near enough of the other folks on the beach.
And then you went away for a while, and I kind of forgot about you. I got distracted by the pretty of Bones and the cotton candy fun of America's Next Top Model.
Then you came back, and I DVRed you, cause I was going to watch you, honest.
And yesterday I finally did. All of you, in time to watch tonight's season finale.
Oh, Lost...
( cut for finale spoilers )
You hurt my brain, Lost, but for the first time in a long time, you made it hurt so good.

Sep. 8th, 2006 11:04 pmI'm so tired it's not even funny. Been at my new job three days and we've already had the giant open day today where it felt like I was hearding cats all day from very, very early in the morning. And it was hot, and humid. And after being there only three days, I don't know all of the answers to questions people ask me that I know I should and I feel like a dolt going 'erm... lemme go ask someone who's actually been doing this longer than three days'. *le sigh* It'll work out soon enough. But until then, my brain is dead from both information overload and just sheer exhaustion from the event today.
Although, on the plus side, I have gotten to see friends that I haven't seen in months and haven't lived near in years so that's been fantastic. Went to go see Little Miss Sunshine last night and it can be summed up in one word - fantastic. Best movie I've seen in a while, laugh out loud funny and anything bad I've ever said about Steve Carrell - not that I think I've said anything - but I take it all back. Couldn't take my eyes off of him. He actually can act. Love him. Love this movie. Must go see it again.
As for tonight's tv...
( SGA 3.08 - McKay and Mrs. Miller )

So, almost embarassed to admit this. Almost, not quite *lol*
Have you ever watched a show just because one of the recurring characters is a little hottie that you know as a recurring character from another show and you're a big fan of said character?
Yeah, this is me not admitting to watching episodes of The 4400 just for Agent Garrity because recently I've had a probably not very healthy wee bit of an obsession with Major Lorne on Stargate Atlantis and both characters are played by the delicious Kavan Smith. However! In between finding eps where I can glee over not!Lorne in a suit, I've found that The 4400 is a pretty nifty show and I think I may just have to head down to the Blockbuster and get this series from the beginning. So, this makes my character stalking just a wee bit more acceptable, right? Finding out the show is neat not just for sharing recurring actors (however, if The 4400 is what's keeping me from getting a current Lorne fix on SGA, well, he needs to pick Lorne first because Lorne rocks way harder than Garrity).
But then, I also have a small fascination with finding people I know from other shows guesting on other shows that I have a great love for. The West Wing was FANTASTIC about that. Like the fact that Paris from Gilmore Girls was the assistant busted by Leo in the first season? Ainsley moving on to solve crimes in Miami? Locke from LOST as one of the Joint Cheifs? Love it!
And wow, that just made me sad all over again that TWW is over and I've seen all of it. There's nothing new for it. And now I keep debating on if I want to go ahead and watch the Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip pilot that's online now or wait until it shows because do I wanna know or do I want to wait with baited breath and let it not tempt me?
Choices, choices.

It's tv review time. Why? Because it's either this or do the laundry. We see which one wins out *lol*

The West Wing: 7.17 Election Day Part II
Apr. 10th, 2006 09:20 pmSuch a wonderful weekend. I got to go down and visit with friends from college (one of whom just bought a house and got rid of her loser boyfriend so it was definately time to celebrate). So we stayed at her house, drank too much wine and played Scattegories - which was extremely amusing by the third bottle *lol* As well as Scene It! Movies - it takes a special kind of person to be able to pull out 'Carl Sagan' after... um... well, I don't remember what glass of wine that was, but it was rather far along. I can't help it that I have a head for random facts even when toasty. It's one of my more endearing qualities. But it was so much fun getting to see people again and getting to spend the entire day with Nat beforehand just talking about everyone and roaming around Podunk, North Carolina with her as we got ready for the evening. Makes me want to move back down there, not to Podunk but back to Raleigh. Might just have to do that.
Although I did get back home just in time to see West Wing last night and oh was it a Kleenex type of night.
( The West Wing - 7.17 Election Day Part II )
And since I was busy having my West Wing moment, I had to download The Simpsons because 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore' finally lets Patti and Selma kidnap MacGyver. And I just HAD to see that *lol*

Apr. 4th, 2006 03:59 amIt's a ridiculous hour of the morning and I can't sleep. So what I'm I doing? Refreshing refreshing refreshing and seeing if anything new is popping up. No, nothing is. At least, nothing that piques my interest - which at 4am, the standards are pretty low *lol* I think I've finally gotten my 'Touch' ficlet for
stagesoflove to the point where I'm happy with it. And this is the problem with working on a fic beforehand - there's always a lag time until I can post it and I'm sitting there going 'wannapostwannapost' and knowing that no, you have to wait until Wednesday when everyone else posts. Silly rules. I may do a few more word edits before posting, but for the most part we're good to go. Fifth completely rewrite, but then fifth's time's the charm. I like it. Now I get to go work on 'Smell' which I have a barebones idea for, so we'll see if that works out. I really didn't know that I would have such a good time with these, but I am. Carson/Laura with the senses is just too damn fun.
And now, since I watched it on repeat on Bravo, so I've had time to digest it from yesterday and today...
( The West Wing, 7.16 Election Day Part I )
And that's what good television should do. Give you goosebumps everytime you watch, no matter how many times you've seen it before. Bravo played Celestial Navigation this afternoon, which is one of my favorite Season 1 eps. That's another one I can watch over and over. Watch Josh talk to the audience about all the crap going on on a normal day, CJ and her 'woot canal' forcing Josh to reveal to the press his Secret Plan to Fight Inflation, and Sam and Toby using celestial navigation by following the north star, which turns out to be the Delta connection out of Hartford to bust their Supreme Court nomineeAdama Mendoza out of jail. God I love West Wing.
Toby: How do you know we're going east?
Sam: The sun rises in the east.
Toby: It's dark outside.
Sam: Also, that bright star in the northern sky is Polaris.
Toby: So what?
Sam: I'm using celestial navigation.
Toby: Hey, Galileo, get off at the next exit and turn the car around.
