It's a ridiculous hour of the morning and I can't sleep. So what I'm I doing? Refreshing refreshing refreshing and seeing if anything new is popping up. No, nothing is. At least, nothing that piques my interest - which at 4am, the standards are pretty low *lol* I think I've finally gotten my 'Touch' ficlet for
stagesoflove to the point where I'm happy with it. And this is the problem with working on a fic beforehand - there's always a lag time until I can post it and I'm sitting there going 'wannapostwannapost' and knowing that no, you have to wait until Wednesday when everyone else posts. Silly rules. I may do a few more word edits before posting, but for the most part we're good to go. Fifth completely rewrite, but then fifth's time's the charm. I like it. Now I get to go work on 'Smell' which I have a barebones idea for, so we'll see if that works out. I really didn't know that I would have such a good time with these, but I am. Carson/Laura with the senses is just too damn fun.
And now, since I watched it on repeat on Bravo, so I've had time to digest it from yesterday and today...
I don't care if it was 'The Ep Where Everyone Got Laid', I enjoyed it fantastically. After seven years, it was about time that Josh and Donna found there way into bed. The sexual tension was exquisite under Sorkin, but it was just getting sad under Wells. Although their quick turn around from nookie to CNN made me laugh. It's so true about elections. And that was another point - I thought they did a good entertaining and realistic version of the behind the scenes on election day. Poor Josh, having his breakdown moment. But we all knew that he would have to have at least one good snap or else he wouldn't be Josh.
And even knowing it was coming, knowing for months, I still teared up when Annabeth found Leo. I know that when they do the funeral scenes I will be a mess. Loved the character, loved John Spencer... And it doesn't help that Two Cathedrals is my fav Season 2 ep. I guess I just have a thing for funeral scenes. Although I wish that I'd known when they were taping those scenes in Baltimore, I would've gone up and had a look. Now I have a desire to watch Two Cathedrals just for the last couple minutes when they're playing Dire Straits 'Brothers in Arms' and Leo says 'Just watch'. Powerful television, let me tell you. Gives me goosebumps each time I watch it.
And that's what good television should do. Give you goosebumps everytime you watch, no matter how many times you've seen it before. Bravo played Celestial Navigation this afternoon, which is one of my favorite Season 1 eps. That's another one I can watch over and over. Watch Josh talk to the audience about all the crap going on on a normal day, CJ and her 'woot canal' forcing Josh to reveal to the press his Secret Plan to Fight Inflation, and Sam and Toby using celestial navigation by following the north star, which turns out to be the Delta connection out of Hartford to bust their Supreme Court nomineeAdama Mendoza out of jail. God I love West Wing.
Toby: How do you know we're going east?
Sam: The sun rises in the east.
Toby: It's dark outside.
Sam: Also, that bright star in the northern sky is Polaris.
Toby: So what?
Sam: I'm using celestial navigation.
Toby: Hey, Galileo, get off at the next exit and turn the car around.
