Apr. 15th, 2007 04:23 pmIt is yucky today. I had plans for errands and then the rain started falling, hard, and I looked out the window and said 'you know, today's going to be a DVR kinda day'. So I've been catching up on tvshows on the DVR and doing laundry. Speaking off, should probably get the clothes out of the dryer and actually fold them so they don't wrinkle. They only time I left my apartment was, oh, 30 minutes ago because I needed coffee. Dreary day needs Starbucks, and since my roommates aren't here they can't mock me for the giant cup while means I'm going to be hyped up on caffeine for the next couple of hours.
Hey, it's not my fault that the last time I went to Starbucks late at night I ended up trying to teach Roommate!D how to tango. So I'm a little sensitive to caffeine *shrugs*
On a brighter note than my weather, I've been offered a chance to go to Tokyo this summer. One of my old profs at the college I work at is going on sabbatical starting in May and wants me and one of the other counselors who was also one of her students to come and join her in Tokyo for two weeks this summer, which would just be incredibly awesome. Really, when will I get the chance to go to Tokyo with someone who actually speaks Japanese again in the near future? So we're pricing flights and figuring out how to ask the boss for an extra week of vacation -- which honestly, I think we should be able to finagle it as 'staff development' because we're two Religion alumnae going with our former Religion professor -- it's perfect for the viewbook or a little bit on the website. Great publicity about alums going places and keeping in touch with former professors and the whole benefits of going to a small college ideal. I love it.
And now I'm done with the entire cup of Starbucks and I'm feeling bouncy. And creative. I feel like writing -- I just need something to write!
