Sep. 1st, 2006 04:56 pmErnesto = rain. Rain = good for plants. But seriously, rain = blah and stuck inside and waiting to see if the wind starts blowing things around. Not that I don't dig weather, I really do.
I just dig cool, party sunny, fall days best *lol*
Which means that my time spent today is packing for the move (yay, move!) which is the bane of my existance because actually getting myself organized to pack pre-last minute is like pulling teeth with me. Yes, I know I should start packing up my worldly goods, but do I really want to spend a rainy day doing that?
Would and should are two totally different things.
And hence, I am putting it off. And thus I am bored. And like
summer_cadence put out yesterday, am I so bored I'm gonna ask the five things meme. Ask me for top five anything, especially something to make me go 'bzuh?' and think *snickers*.
Because thinking is totally better than packing.

Date: 2006-09-02 02:04 am (UTC)Top Five Current Go-To Fics, in no particular order:
1. To Serve A Queen,
He was Ronon Dex, Red-Jewelled Warlord Prince of the Blood. And he would serve with honour.
It's long, it's involved, it's Ronon and an Elizabeth that doesn't make me want to claw my eyes out. It's hot, it's sexy, it's AU, and while I haven't read the series that it's based on, I don't feel like I'm missing a thing. But all of the characters are awesome in the new roles they're assigned and it's just such a good, long re-read.
2. The Lysistrata Project,
“What exactly are you suggesting?” said Kate Heightmeyer.
“That we all refrain from engaging in any kind of sexual intercourse with the men of Atlantis until such time as they come to their senses,” said Teyla.
“I think I’d rather take my chances with the space herpes,” Cadman said flatly.
It's funny! The girls decide to withhold sex until the boys of Atlantis fall in line. And it has a great Cadman in it, which just makes a fic a winner hands down.
3. Fearless,
A sleepless night finds Carson wandering off into the depth of Atlantis. What starts out as a somnambulant venture soon turns into a nightmare he is unable to escape.
Another long, involved fic, this time focusing on Carson. It's dark, it's creepy, and even knowing how it ends after reading it so many times, it never loses the emotional punch through out.
4. Cocytus,
They cry for those who have no one left to cry for them.
Again, something dark (which is odd, cause I usually gravitate towards light and fluffy, but I digress). Team fic, very creepy but not for anything graphic just... creepy. And I can read it, and know what happens, and that doesn't diminish the fic at all.
5. Separate Salt From Sand,
Kate never liked this aspect of her job.
Seriously, what's with me rereading downer/creepy fics? But anyway, this one just tugs at my heartstrings each and every time, and it's such a good Kate voice and you get to hear from all of the other characters and it's just a hands down good fic.
