Feb. 1st, 2007 02:10 pmHow much do I love waking up to a snow day? I get a call at 6:30 this morning from my assistant director telling me that the winter storm they were afraid was coming in actually did, and everything's closed. Including us. I love calls like that. Because you know what I did? Turned off the alarm that was snoozing and rolled over back to sleep.
It was delightful.
Even if I do think it's funny that just a little bit of snow will cripple Raleigh. If I was back home in Maryland, we'd look out the window and go 'oh, look. it's snowing' and proceed on to work/school/degenerate activities. Here? I know that I know how to drive in snow, but the people here don't. People here think that if they have 4-wheel drive, they are invincible. And therefore, they drive like they are batshit crazier than normal. So I just stay off the roads so I don't get in some crazy driver's way.
I know, twist my arm to stay home and snuggled up.
But for people who don't realize just how little snow it takes to close down cities in the South, I leaned out a window and snapped a pic to give you a giggle for just how little it takes.
spazzula, remember when things were closed for a dusting of snow? You know you miss it *snickers*

I love winter. *snuggles up with tomato soup*
