Mar. 19th, 2006 11:15 pmMy sister came and went and her cat is still here. Not that I don't love dear Bubs, I really do. But she wonders why he is so attached to me. I mean, I can't help it that I'm just so terribly wonderful that the cat adores me. He has fantastic taste. I'd love him even more if he didn't aggrivate my allergies, but hey, we can't all be perfect, now can we?
I love Sunday night tv.
The West Wing - 7.14 'Two Weeks Out'
I spent the entire episode holding my breath because I thought tonight was the Leo episode, which leaves me with all of this adrenaline and clutched emotions that didn't get released through the episode and now I'm exhausted. I'd rather be surprised than waiting for something, but what can you do? Other than sitting and waiting for something to happen that didn't, it wasn't a bad ep. But then, I adore Alan Alda and anytime we get to see more of him is a good thing. And Bruno continues to be one of my favorite characters. I loved him during Bartlet's reelection campaign and I'm loving him on Vinick's... although I think the reason I love him so much is that I knew people like him. You can't work on a campaign without running into a Bruno, and yeah, people who've never done anything like that can look at him and go 'oh, how can you even suggest doing something like that?' but you never know what you'll be willing to do when it comes down to the wire. Although again, the last scene in the pantry made me love Vinick even more than I already do from just loving Alan Alda. And I really want to believe Santos about the checks, but that would be too easy and ever since John "let's make West Wing like ER" Wells took over from Aaron "I'm brilliant but totally cracked out" Sorkin, we can't take the easy or the high road out. Every ep has to have a big, oh my God, plot twist of doom instead of back in the early seasons where we got to see normal events and normal people... well, as normal as you can be when you work in politics. But then, political people are an interesting sort *lol*
And I just want to bitch slap Vinick's new campaign manager. Bring back Jill Taylor, she didn't make me stabby.
Grey's Anatomy - 2.19 'Superstition'
So, I hate to admit but I'm superstitious. You can't have been involved in the theater and NOT be superstitious, add in political superstitions that let me tell you run really really deep and odd around October of an election year and yeah, I'm supersitious. So I'd totally be the one going 'you can't do this today! 3 and 7! 3 and 7!' Luckily, I'm not one of those people on the tv. And I have to give Addison credit for trying to make friends with Meredith. I like Addison, and I know that the grande scheme of things is going to be Meredith & McDreamy, but hey, I like Addison and I think she's gotten short shrift a lot. Izzy threatening to kick Cristina's ass made me like Izzy a hell of a lot more, Alex being mean to George just reaffirms the fact that something very very bad has to happen to that mean terrible boy for being cruel to my dear George. No one screws with my George. Not even Meredith, and let me just also add that those Grey girls obviously have a track record of screwing people up. But then, I don't have a good track record of enjoying the 'main character' of any show. Give me the supporting characters any day - they're totally more interesting.
And yay for George calling Dr. Torres. He needs to move on and be happy. Because George deserves to be happy. I love George. Love love love him. And love him for making friends with Burke. And Cristina disliking it, because she really is Type A and doesn't share well. I love George. Let me say that again - I love George. Ok, done now.
I love George.
And, sidenote, I really want to know the name of the song that was on during the end of the day with the Denny and co. surgeries. The one that kept repeating hallelujah. That was a delightfully hypnotic song.
On a side note, I'm really digging this new audiofic/podfic/whatever the hell people call it thing that's going around with the SGA fic. I have my headset sitting right next to me and yes, I've tried reading some fic - even one of my own, which let me say is an interesting experience. Maybe I'll find the balls to post the files *lol* Listen to my great rendition.

Date: 2006-03-20 06:07 pm (UTC)I like Denny. I hope he lives. I bet he's cute when he's upright. (Plus more drama. I don't think they can resist the lure of relationship drama that him getting better would mean.)
Ironically, all the jealous wanking aside, I think Alex was right that Izzy shouldn't get to close, that it was keeping her from giving Denny a realistic evaluation of his chances, but he was SUCH AN ASS that it automatically cancels out any rightness.
The thing that bugs me with "superstition" episodes like this, is that the fact that we've never heard this mentioned before and probably won't again. (Or has there been mention? I admit I've not seen every episode.)
The song at the end... was that the one that repeated "how to save a life" or something? I liked that one. No idea what it is.
I may be the only person mostly indifferent to George. The grade school shunning thing to Meredith (and I don't even like her) was total whiny bitch behavior. Again, I think Alex was right but such a TOTAL ASSHOLE that it didn't matter. Although now everyone is all "Aw, George" so indirectly Alex helped him out.
The whole subplot of Burke's cap was hilarious and awesome and I loved that it ended with Izzy all righteous and totally willing to wrestle Christina to the ground and take the cap from her. Awesome! And I feel there will soon be icons of George and Christina in the bathroom, which I might need one of.

Date: 2006-03-21 06:03 am (UTC)Denny's ever so likable and Izzy really should know better than to fall for patients - look how well it goes with therepists! I was glad both Izzy and Alex got thrown out of the OR since he was an ass and she was too emotionally involved.
And of course we'll never hear around said suspicions again. Although growing up around hospitals, this was on of the more tame superstions I've heard *lol*
Anything with Burke and Cristina is gold in my book. They are so fantastic together. And I really was hoping for Izzy and Cristina to go at it just for my sheer enjoyment.
Oh yes, the bathroom scene is totally on my list to icon.

Yay, icons! I would try, but I am not very skilled. Also lazy.
