So, I finally got a chance to watch Reunion

I couldn't help but giggle every time I see Mark Dacascos on screen, all I think is Iron Chef and I keep waiting for him to pull out the secret ingredient. I love Food Network -- and this is just a sign that I watch way too much of it.

I always love a Ronon episode, even if I saw the Wraith worshipping thing a mile away. That's okay -- you don't always have to surprise me for me to enjoy it. Although I think it's about damn time that we met an honorable Satedan other than Ronon, rather than just the muck who ran like pansies when the planet was being attacked.

Still don't like Sam. Yes, it was refreshing that she had the balls to tell someone no, which was something that was decidedly lacking in Weir, sadly, but the whole 'I'm telling you no cause the IOA won't like it'... well, I like my Atlantis far away from my Earth, so that just pissed me off as well. Cut off contact with Earth! You are way cooler when fending for yourselves!

And, I'm sorry, but Sam needs to stop calling Shep 'John'. She's his commanding officer and that is waaaaay too familiar for a working relationship. That's just sloppy writing, y'all. Sloppy.

But as much as I dislike Sam, how enjoyable was the scene with Rodney proclaiming, "I'm seeing someone!!' That just gave me a giggle.

Overall much more enjoyable for me than Adrift or Lifeline because I heart Wraith. Replicators bore me, but Wraith? I love Wraith. Need more Wraith.

Which means that Doppleganger is on Friday. *glee*

I think the first name usage is a more recent SG-1 development; Sam and Jack hardly ever used each other's first names, they were always 'Carter' and 'Sir', *lol*. The weird first name usage didn't really pop up until Mitchell appeared, and he and Sam started in on the 'Cam and Sam' show -- which always irritated me for the same reasons above, even if they were technically the same rank.

I can see why Sam might resort to first name usage if it's just the two of them and she's trying to show Shep she understands emotionally why he wants to go after Elizabeth, and convey her empathy for his position, but it sort of undermines her new status as expedition leader. She's in a very precarious new position here, and I think it's grating right off the bat because she's still supposed to be establishing herself as a strong leader, not as John's friend from the SGC who just happens to be his boss now. It just feels too soon for her to start using his first name, if ever.

Not to mention the fact that Rodney only JUST called him 'John' for the first time onscreen in 3 years in the last ep, much to the McSheppers' glee, *lol*
