Falling down the stairs with your work laptop makes an even worse morning.
Falling down the stairs with your work laptop and having your office tell you that if you can't fix it yourself, you'll have to wait three weeks to get back into town and let tech services look at it so you don't have to pay someone else to do it makes for a seriously crappy morning.
Deciding to say screw it and start taking the computer apart to try and fix the harddrive yourself because really, what else can you do to it that falling down the stairs didn't -- and making it turn on? *glee*
You, my dear laptop, are my bitch. I rock you. I don't know if I did it right, but I have jimmied you in such a way that you turn on and work and I am yay. Because three weeks without my database? Without NaNo -- because yes, I'm stupid enough to try and do that AGAIN this year? Without my vampires project? Oh no. That's just not cool. Not cool at all.
