For those who don't know, music is my complete and utter weakness. Nothing excites me more than a shiny new mp3, cd, record even in which to dance, sing, memorize, and generally make a fool of myself to. I am that person who dances and sings along with the music in the grocery store, getting odd looks from the guy who's just there to pick up a box of rice and is damn irritated about being there. I'm the person who smiles at said guy and continues to sing, and has on one occasion reached her hand out to said irritated guy and danced in the aisle with him. ('Ain't Too Proud To Beg' by the Temptations was on, in the Harris Teeter at Cameron Village for those who want the mental image). He ended up laughing and leaving the aisle with a smile so it was all good. I'm the person who would make an absolutely terrible Buddhist because my mind is never quiet and when it's not thinking of something in particular, there's a song going in the background - and sometimes I will sing along to this mental song and/or dance to it. 'Mental FM' as it was lovingly referred to by my last roommate. When asked for quotes, I quote often from songs because that's just the first thing that pops into my mind. I take it as a personal challenge to memorize fun, odd, and lengthy songs that often boggle people (case in point, 'We Didn't Start The Fire' - Billy Joel, which I can explain everything they mention too, and 'Nations of the World' from the Animaniacs because Lord knows it's just fun. I mean, a song for the nations of the world circa 1990? Who can't love something like that?)

And where is this post going other than 'omg I love music?' I love even more being able to place music from television, movies, and other moments of importance. This is usually noted by the frequent repetition of 'Brothers in Arms' by Dire Straits because it's played during my favorite moment on series television (The West Wing 2.22 'Two Cathedrals', where the staff is heading towards Bartlet's press conference after Mrs. Landingham's funeral, and Barlet gives his answer about running for a second term without saying a word. Leo's "Just watch..." gives me goosebumps each time I watch it.)

And now, I have gotten my hands on an entire plethora of West Wing music in one easy to handle zip file that has just made my night. From 'He Is An Englishman' from HMS Pinafore (Sam sticking up for Ainsley!) to 'The Jackel' (ah! CJ!) to Yo Yo Ma's 'Cello Suite Prelude' (Josh! And gah, Leo's speech about the hole!) I am in music dork/West Wing dork heaven.

Just felt like sharing that. I shall go back to grooving to Annette Funicello's 'Blame It On The Bossa Nova' now.

Edit: Oh, might as well share the love. Blame It On The Bossa Nova - Annette Funicello

Hi, you don't know me at all, but I adore TWW, and I was searching for Blame It On The Bossa Nova by Annette Funicello. This was the only site that I found it on (I tried to find it on itunes, but they don't have it). Anyway, I was hoping that you wouldn't mind reuploading the song. Or, I know this is a lot to ask, but if you maybe could point me in the direction of the zip file with all the songs? I know you don't know me, but I would very much appriciate it!

Sure, that's not a problem at all. I'll do that when I get home and on my comp with music on it this evening.

I might even still have the zip, I'll check and see.

So, I still have the whole zip, so I can upload that for you when I get my comp back on Sunday. I figured I still had the whole thing -- don't see why I would've trashed it *lol*

So yes, the whole zip on Sunday and you can revel in the glory that is TWW music. Glad to be of help :)

Ah, I can't thank you enough! Seriously! I'm going to add you as a friend if you don't mind! Also, I'm going to start posting some songs on my lj this weekend and I figured I'd let you know given how much you say you love music!
